She/They: Pacific Rim Sculptors is open to any member of Pacific Rim Sculptors who identifies as a woman including non-binary and transgender artists working in any sculptural media. 

This exhibition will showcase a wide range of art by contemporary sculptors. All subjects, themes and approaches are welcome. All techniques from traditional to the newest innovations will be considered. We look forward to seeing your artwork!
 

ELIGIBILITY: Organized by the Pacific Rim Sculptors (PRS), this call is open and free to all current PRS members who are up to date with their dues. Not a current member of Pacific Rim? Re-join/Join Here!
 

CATEGORIES ACCEPTED: Artists may submit sculptural work including kinetic, narrative, environmental, figurative, free standing or leaning, electronic, small installations, relief sculpture and other wall-hung, ceiling hung, installation art to be displayed indoors. No art can be screwed or nailed to the floor. Art must fit through a 58”x 80” door. Ceiling height max. is 141 inches. Pedestals/plinths/risers will be provided by SCAL. Artist must be present to assist with complicated installations and de-installations.  Art may be hand delivered or shipped to the gallery. Please do not submit highly fragile works, works that are hazardous to visitors, or anything that decays or emits odor. 


 

JUROR

LAUREN BAINES is the interim Director at the de Saisset Museum, Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA. Lauren Baines has over 13 years experience as an arts and culture leader in the non-profit sector, including art centers, artist residencies, performing arts companies, professional associations and university museums.

In addition to her own practice as a professional choreographer and dancer, Baines currently serves on the board of the California Association of Museums and for 10 years was on the Steering Committee of genARTS Silicon Valley, a program of SVCreates.

Baines holds an MFA from Mills College in Choreography/Dance and BA and BS degrees in Art History, Theatre Arts (Dance Emphasis), and Psychology from Santa Clara University.

The Santa Cruz Art League has been serving the community for over 100 years. Its mission is to function as an agent for the artistic experience. The Santa Cruz Art League encourages visual and performing arts in an environment that is supportive to artists, students and the greater community with approximately 12 art shows per year. 

Hours of Operation: Wednesday- Saturday 1-4 pm

INSURANCE AND SALES: Art in the gallery will be insured for up to $1,000 by the Santa Cruz Art League. SCAL will retain a commission on artwork sold during the exhibit, 30% for members of Santa Cruz Art League and 45% for non-members. To join SCAL:  https://scal.org/

ARTWORK SUBMISSIONS:  
  Artists may submit a maximum of three entries of their artworks, including up to three views of each artwork (for a maximum of nine images total. Selected art may be hand delivered or shipped, ready for exhibition and be presented professionally. Images should be a minimum of 5"x7" at 300 DPI (i.e., 1500 pixels on shortest side), and not more than 25MB in size. Artists residing out of the Bay Area are encouraged to apply. If shipping is necessary, artist must provide return shipping expenses, including insurance. Artwork needs to arrive by the end of the day on Installation Delivery Date: January 12. 2024. Further questions/arrangements must be directed to Santa Cruz Art League.
